No-one can deny that the servicemen and women of the British Forces are the finest in the world. They have, do and will continue to ensure our country’s interests are protected and that we remain safe in our daily lives. HELP FOR HEROES, ROYAL NAVY ROYAL MARINE CHARITY & BFBS BIG SALUTE are charities born from the belief that we, the people, can do and should do more to help those who come home and need additional support. They are very close to my heart and I am sure many thousands of you reading this right now.
From this comes the Three Channels Challenge. Never heard of it? I’m not suprised as it’s something that came out of a long night with some Royal Marine friends of mine.
1. England to Wales; Bristol Channel; Ilfacombe to Swansea, 31.7 miles
Completed May 2011 – 21 hrs 46 mins 19 sec
2. Northern Ireland to Scotland; Galloway Channel, 28.8 miles
Completed December 2012 – 15 hours 16 mins 23 sec (Click Live Tracking to see track)
3. Republic of Ireland to England (via Wales); Irish Sea, 101 miles

Those are the challenges I have set myself. The challenges are going to be physically and mentally demanding. The training, alongside my other commitments, is going to be intense but with your support I will do it and in doing so will raise money and much needed awareness.
